Pengembangan Usaha Susu Kambing Etawa: Upaya Preventif terhadap Stunting dan Peningkatan Imunitas pada Anak

Usaha susu kambing Etawa memiliki potensi besar dalam mendukung pemenuhan kebutuhan gizi anak, terutama untuk pencegahan stunting dan peningkatan imunitas. Pengembangan usaha susu kambing Etawa di Mannaf Farm, Kabupaten Agam, bertujuan meningkatkan kualitas dan keamanan susu guna mendukung pencegahan stunting dan peningkatan imunitas anak. Masalah utama meliputi kebersihan kandang yang kurang optimal dan pengelolaan produksi susu yang belum memenuhi standar. Perbaikan dilakukan melalui desain kandang yang mempermudah pembersihan dan sistem pemisahan otomatis antara kotoran dan urin. Peternak juga dilatih praktik pemerahan higienis, pasteurisasi, dan penyimpanan susu sesuai standar Thai Agriculture Standard (TAS) No. 6006-2008. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan kualitas kebersihan dan keamanan susu, penurunan angka kesakitan kambing, serta peningkatan skor pengetahuan peternak dari 47,64 menjadi 85,08. Selain itu, pemanfaatan limbah kandang sebagai pupuk kompos memberikan nilai tambah ekonomi. Pendekatan ini berhasil meningkatkan daya saing susu kambing sebagai alternatif nutrisi aman dan berkualitas, terutama bagi anak-anak sebagai upaya pencegahan stunting.
